May Adventures

’m not sure how it happened but May ended up being a real whirlwind of a month. Some things were planned while others weren’t but that’s part of the fun right?! As I get older, I’m realizing it’s harder and harder to connect with friends.. sometimes family too. Everyone works, has a family, multiple schedules, etc., so there’s not much room for spontaneity. Because of that, anytime a spontaneous/random trip happens, it’s always fun because you don’t know what adventure awaits you :)

It's Been A While...

Boy oh boy, how do I begin this? Well, first of all.. hey friends! Long time no speak! As you can tell from the title of this post, it’s been a WHILE. Life has been crazy. I moved to Raleigh from Charlotte in the summer of 2017 (I can’t believe it’s already been that long... WILD…) and threw myself into the photography world while also trying to work a full time job. I networked more than I’ve ever networked before and was able to meet and connect with so many talented people.

Weekend Wrap-Up

This weekend I headed out to Carolina Beach in Wilmington with my family! It was an after thought so we were there for less than half a day but I'm glad we went. If I'm not mistaken, the last time I went to the beach was 2 years ago when my brother and his the fiancee came down to visit from Jersey. We went to Myrtle Beach for the day and it was so fun! Carolina Beach is a lot smaller but just hanging out in the water with my nephew was SO relaxing. Honestly, both he and I felt so good after getting out of the water..and I mean literally. I think our skin got a little exfoliation treatment from the salt and sand, haha!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Birthday Edition

This weekend was my oldest brother's 36th birthday and my grandmother's 68th! Friday we celebrated Jihad with tacos (from the best taco truck in town), cake and ice cream. Fun fact, I make a cake for every birthday in my immediate family. It's almost always yellow or confetti with chocolate icing or if it's for my mom I may do carrot with buttercream :) On Saturday he headed out to DC for a sightseeing trip with my nephew's mentor group so my parents and I headed to Charlotte to surprise my grandmother for her birthday!

Weekend Wrap Up | Sarah P. Duke Gardens at Duke University

Ever since I moved to Raleigh people have been telling me how beautiful Duke University is so last Friday I decided to go and check it out for myself. They were right. Not only the gardens are beautiful but so is the campus! I went to KEAN in NJ and although it was a nice looking school.. it ain't got nothing on Duke. It kind of looks like someone hired a Scottish architect in the gothic era to design it. It's really incredible

My Photography Bucket List

I've never been out of the country. If I'm being totally honest, I don't even have my passport yet. I don't really know what I'm waiting for either. I mean, I know I want to travel and take photographs around the world. Not just for weddings but for pure joy! I love all different types of photography because it's capturing all of what this world has to offer.

Easter Weekend Wrap Up

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating Easter with family and friends! My parents, brother, nephew, and I went to Charlotte to have Easter with the rest of my family. It was a last minute decision but so worth it to spend time with the people you love. Good food, fun games, big laughs.. what's better than that? This isn't a long post but I wanted to post a few photos of all of the fun we had.

February Snapshot, March Goals, and the March Snapshot

Happy Friday friends! The last two weeks have been a little bit of a whirlwind. I've been to Charlotte twice for three birthdays, family pictures, hanging with co-workers, and just having tons of fun! I decided to make this a combo post because throughout the month of February and beginning of March I was revamping my website so I never blogged the February Snapshot or March goals. So all of that will be wrapped into this post!

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Monday friends! Now that my website is done I feel like I can finally focus on blogging again. This weekend I decided to go to Charlotte. One of my little cousins was having a birthday party and my older cousin asked if I could take a few family photos for them. I also was able to spend some time with a few of my old co-workers which was so much fun!

The New & Improved JAP Website!

It’s LIVE!! My new website has been live for a few days and I’ve gotten such great feedback on it! Thank you!! It’s been a long time coming and after over a month of back and forth design ideas, I’m finally really happy with this one. I didn’t hire a designer or a branding specialist to help me simply because I love the challenge of learning these pieces myself. Is it perfect? No. But it’s certainly a design that I can keep for a long time and maybe make a few small changes here and there if need be. But I’m loving it right now and I’m so proud of myself!

February Goals

It's February! Can you believe it? Actually, I can...I kind of feel like January took a long time to end so now I'm sure February is going to feel like it's flying by. All that really means is that I need to work faster this month on my goals :) My personal goals are probably going to stay pretty consistent because I'm trying to get into a routine so forgive me the repetition. Business goals are a little different but they piggy back off of what I had for January.
