Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed Mother's Day with their mom yesterday! Unfortunately, my parents still live in NJ so I had to spend time with my mom via FaceTime while she was enjoying mexican nachos and fruit from Edible Arrangements. I don't say it often but I am very thankful for my mother and the woman she is. Without her as a role model for me, I truly wouldn't be who I am today..and she deserves her nachos and fruit. Love you mom!! 

The only other thing I did this weekend was workout..harder than I thought I did. I woke up Sunday morning feeling VERY sore. I've been working out (either walking/jogging and or going to the gym) almost every day for the last few weeks and I can finally feel it paying off! Working out at least 4 days per week was one of my goals at the start of the year but excuse after excuse and it ended up being more like once a week for no more than one hour. Not good. So a few weeks ago I decided I really need to get mind right and focus if I really want to see results. What's the point of exercising if I'm just going to eat the same things I was eating before? Right, there is no point. With that mindset I went grocery shopping and didn't buy any sweets! That's a BIG win for me. I always buy SOME kind of sweet whether it's fruit snacks, honey buns, cookies.. you know, all that good stuff. But not this time. This time was only lean meats, veggies, fruits, healthy snacks and LOTS of water. I've also been bringing my lunch to work more often so I'm saving money too!  Slowly but surely I'll get to where I need to be and I'll keep sharing my progress with you all as I feel myself getting more and more fit by the day!
