Goal Setting For 2016
It really has been a long time coming since I've written a post. It's sad but this post will set the stage for what's coming soon. First, I want to share my first experience with the Tuesday's Together Charlotte, NC group. For those of you who don't know, Tuesdays Together Groups are small groups for creative entrepreneurs and are run by an incredible community called The Rising Tide. I've been apart of the group for a while but I could never make it to the meetings because of work or travel. Finally, last Tuesday I was able to attend my first meeting! It was great and even though there were only about 8 of us, I still got a lot out of it.
I always knew getting together with other photographers or just entrepreneurs in general was good but until you actually get there and engage, it's totally different. It's great! The topic we touched on was Finding Your Niche and honing in on finding your ideal client. This was something that I really needed to hear as a refresher for me. Finding your niche isn't just about finding your ideal client. It's about every aspect of your business and remembering that is really important. So I'm taking that advice and really trying to run with it this year. One piece of advice we were given is setting goals. Not just an end of year goal but monthly goals that will help lead up to the year end goal.
Starting in March I'll be posting my monthly goals on the blog as well as what was shared at the Tuesdays Together meetings. Not only will the goal setting help me have content for the blog but also help me be held accountable for what I want to accomplish this year. I made too many empty promises last year and I don't want that to happen this year. It's not beneficial to myself or my audience if I over promise and under deliver. In fact, it should be the exact opposite. That being said, I hope this year of goal setting will help grow my business in such a way that is genuine and beneficial to myself and my audience. For those of you who have stayed with me and my business, thank you! I can't wait to share my goals with you!
